I have owed the Plustek 7200 for about a month now. At first I had a great deal of trouble getting the software to run. However, between the Silverfast software Technical support and especially the Plustek Technical support all is working well. The Plustek support, especially a man named, Carlos, was superb! If you have ever dealt with other companies especially software companies you know how difficult getting good technical support is.The 7200 scanner itself seems well made and pretty durable. It had a nice mechanical sound (not cheep sounding) and it is easy to slide the holder through the scanner. It does require a minute or two of warm up before use. The Silverfast software is pretty easy to use also, though I have yet to figure out how to make the scratch removal filter work. You have many options when adjusting color, sharpness, and contrast. Do not expect miracles, you can improve the old washed out color etc. but it will not make your old slides look like new digital photos! Also, do not think this is simply a "push a button" and it does it all for you system. It will take several minutes per slide to scan, crop, adjust the color and contrast, and so on. You can scan directly to disk and then use other software you may have to actually manipulate the picture. Overall I am very pleased with this scanner.
